Part 3 (FULL ENDING) . Thank you so much!
Carter collapsed fully onto his knees in the middle of the road, the urine soaking into the dust as he clutched at the cuffs of my medical escort’s trousers.
“Clara! Baby, please!” he sobbed, snot and tears smearing across his face. “I was confused! Chloe seduced me! She told me you were holding me back! It was my mother’s idea to do the livestream, I swear to God! She said making you look weak would force you to sign! Please, call off your men! I love you! You’re my wife!”
Inside the Lamborghini, Chloe scrambled to grab her luxury handbag and tried to sprint toward the tree line. Two female security operators instantly intercepted her, pinning her against the hood of the supercar and placing cold steel handcuffs around her wrists.
“Let me go!” Chloe screamed. “I didn’t drag her! He drove the car! I’m just a guest! You can’t touch me, I’m an influencer!”
“Miss Chloe Miller,” Mr. Sterling said smoothly, adjusting his gold cufflink without sparing her a look. “You are under arrest for grand larceny, conspiracy to commit murder, and interstate financial fraud. Those counterfeit luxury items you promote on your social platforms were funded by stolen Kensington trust funds. You will be facing federal prosecutors before nightfall.”
A patrol vehicle escorted a trembling Evelyn down the mountain drive. She was clutching her chest, wheezing, her hair disheveled and her livestream tripod smashed under the boot of a soldier.
“Clara… my sweet daughter-in-law,” Evelyn whimpered, her arrogant voice reduced to a pathetic rasp. “We are family! You can’t treat Carter like this! He is the master of this house! Think about what society will say if you ruin your own husband!”
I raised my hand, silencing her instantly. The pain medication had begun to dull the throb in my raw skin, but the cold clarity in my chest was absolute.
“Evelyn,” I said quietly, each word ringing clear in the dead silence. “You spent three years spitting on my food when Carter wasn’t looking. You made me clean your guest rooms on my knees and told your high-society friends I was a charity case your son picked up out of pity. Today, you held up a camera while your son tried to scrape my flesh off on a mountain road for private property you never had a single penny invested in.”
I looked down at Carter, who was shaking violently on the ground, his eyes wide with animal panic.
“Mr. Sterling,” I commanded.
“Yes, Your Grace.”
“Execute Clause Nine of the marital covenant immediately.”
Mr. Sterling gave a crisp nod and tapped his earpiece. “Command Center, initiate total financial liquidation on the Vance family portfolio.”
Within sixty seconds, Carter’s phone, still mounted on the Lamborghini’s dashboard, began buzzing relentlessly. Automated alerts lit up the screen one after another.
First Horizon Bank: Account Balance $0.00 — Assets Seized. Vance Logistics LLC: Chapter 7 Involuntary Bankruptcy Notice Filed. Colorado State Police: Warrants Issued for Carter Vance, Evelyn Vance, Chloe Miller.
“No… no, no, no!” Carter screamed, tearing at his hair. “Everything is gone! Dad’s company! The house! My car!”
“That car was bought on a credit facility backed by my grandfather’s foundation, Carter,” I said, stepping past him toward the armored medical transport. “You don’t even own the watch on your wrist.”
Two armed officers hauled Carter to his feet by the elbows. He was sobbing uncontrollably, begging, babbling incoherent apologies, his soaked trousers a pathetic testament to his shattered ego. Evelyn collapsed onto the curb in genuine hysterics as local sheriff deputies arrived, sirens wailing, having been dispatched to take custody of the three conspirators based on the live-streamed evidence Evelyn herself had broadcast to over a hundred thousand viewers worldwide.
The video had already blown up globally across TikTok, X, and Facebook. Evelyn’s own phone had provided undisputed, high-definition evidence of attempted premeditated murder, domestic assault, and reckless endangerment. There was no high-priced lawyer who could save them; the evidence was etched into public cyberspace forever.
As the deputies shoved Carter and Chloe into the back of separate patrol cars, Carter looked through the reinforced glass, weeping and banging his head against the window, desperate for a single glance of mercy.
I never looked back.
Forty-eight hours later, the divorce decree was signed by an emergency judge in Denver. The Vance family’s entire estate, cars, and corporate holdings were dismantled to pay off creditors and restitution damages awarded directly to me. Carter and Chloe were formally indicted without bail on multiple felony charges, facing up to twenty-five years in federal prison. Evelyn was evicted from her country club home, relegated to an assisted living facility funded strictly by basic state welfare.
Sitting in the sunroom of my mountain villa, wrapped in clean linen bandages and sipping hot tea, I watched the private helicopters lift off from the lawn, heading back to regional headquarters.
For three years, I had lowered myself to see if human decency could survive without the lure of immense wealth. Carter Vance chose greed, cruelty, and violence.
Now, he would spend the next two decades behind bars in a gray prison jumpsuit, remembering the afternoon he tried to drag an empire through the dirt—only to be crushed under its wheels.
